Our Process for Ordering Quartz and Granite Countertops

Step 1: Measure and Sketch Your Kitchen Layout

  • Take rough measurements of your kitchen countertops. Measure the length and width of all surfaces where the countertops will be installed.
  • Sketch a basic layout of your kitchen with the measurements, including details like the location of your fridge, sink and stove, as well as any other unique features. These measurements don’t have to be precise, as a professional laser template will be done later. Just make sure the general dimensions and layout are included.
  • Make sure to measure the size of your sink cabinet (not your existing sink) so we can show you the appropriate options.

Step 2: Submit Your Measurements

  • Visit us in person with your measurements or send your rough measurements and layout to us via email: britt@guskitchenandbath.com
  • Include your installation location and stone selection to receive a more accurate price estimate.

Step 3: Select Your Stone Material

  • The cost of quartz or granite varies depending on the colour and pattern. We can provide a rough price range without a stone selection, but pricing specific colours will give you a more accurate estimate.
  • Visit our showroom at 1292 Hwy 7E, Peterborough to browse through our in-stock granite and quartz slabs. We have slabs displayed in the parking lot which you can explore even outside business hours.
  • If visiting in person is not convenient, email the sales team with your preferred colour and pattern and we will get back to you with a detailed quote.

Step 4: Explore Additional Options

  • If you don’t find the perfect stone in the store’s current selection, ask about their stone partners for a wider range of materials.
  • Browse the additional selections available through our partners (links below) and choose a material that meets your design vision.

Step 5: Schedule a Professional Measurement

  • If you decide to move forward with the order, we will schedule a professional on-site visit to take precise measurements using a laser templating system. This ensures the countertops will be cut and installed with complete accuracy.

Step 6: Confirm the Order and Installation Date

  • After the professional measurement we will begin the fabrication process, once completed we will schedule the installation of your quartz or granite countertops.
  • Wait times vary largely, please confirm the current wait time when placing your order. The average time from order date to installation is 4-6 weeks. However, times can vary anywhere from 2-8 weeks depending on the current workload.

If you are visiting us in person and you have access to a flooring or cabinet sample from your renovation project, make sure to bring that along. Following these steps will ensure a smooth and efficient process from selecting materials to installation.
